Tigridia pavonia also known as the one-day lily has a common name that tells a story. The flowers do indeed last only one day but each stalk produces several blooms and will flower profusely over six weeks.

How to plant

Position them in full sun and loosen the soil to a depth of about 30cm. Plant in well-draining soil at a depth of 5cm and 10cm apart (closer in pots). Water every three to four days for 10 minutes, provided it hasn't rained. Every 2-3 days in pots.
